Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026 · By booking or paying for any session, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms.
These terms are written in plain language on purpose. They exist to protect both of us, so that every conversation can be exactly what it promises to be: private, honest, and safe.
1. What this service is — and isn't
The Honest Hour provides private, one-to-one conversation. That's all, and that's the point.
It is not therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, coaching, medical care, mental-health treatment, legal advice, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for any of those. I am not a licensed therapist or healthcare professional, and nothing said in a session should be treated as professional advice.
If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, thoughts of harming yourself or others, or any emergency, please contact a licensed professional or your local emergency services. If I believe during a session that you need more support than a conversation can offer, I will say so honestly and encourage you to seek it.
2. Who can book
You must be 18 or older to use this service, and you must book for yourself, not on behalf of someone else.
3. Confidentiality
What you share in a session stays in the session. I do not record calls, share what you tell me, or discuss clients with anyone. You may use any name you wish.
The only exception: if I genuinely believe there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to you or to another person, I reserve the right to contact emergency services. I hope that never happens — but honesty means telling you it's the one line I would cross.
Confidentiality runs both ways: you agree not to record sessions or share their contents without my written consent.
4. Sessions, bookings and timekeeping
- Sessions are 45 minutes, by audio or video call, at the time you book.
- Please be on time. If you arrive late, the session still ends at the scheduled time.
- If you don't join within 15 minutes of the start time without notice, the session is treated as completed and is not refunded.
5. Rescheduling and cancellation
- You may reschedule or cancel free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice, using the link in your booking confirmation.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are not refunded — the time was held for you.
- If I ever need to reschedule, you'll get priority rebooking or a full refund, your choice.
6. The 10-minute promise
If within the first 10 minutes of your first session you don't feel comfortable and safe, you may end the call and receive a full refund, no questions asked. This promise applies to your first session.
7. Respect and conduct
This is a space for honesty, not for abuse. I will end a session immediately and without refund if a client is abusive, threatening, sexually inappropriate, or behaves in any way that makes the conversation unsafe. Repeated or serious misconduct means no future bookings. The same respect is owed to you: if I ever fall short, tell me, and I will make it right.
This is a conversation service only. It does not include and will never include any romantic, sexual, or in-person component, and requests for these will end the relationship immediately.
8. The Honest Line (monthly subscription)
- The Honest Line is a voice-note correspondence: you send messages anytime; I reply once per day, within 24 hours, with my full attention.
- It is a correspondence, not a 24/7 or emergency line.
- One 45-minute call per month is included; unused calls do not roll over.
- You may cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial-month refunds.
9. Payment
All payments are processed securely by Stripe at the time of booking or subscription. Prices are in US dollars. I never see or store your card details. Statement descriptor will read "THE HONEST HOUR".
10. Your privacy
I collect only what's needed to run the service: the name you choose to give, your email, your booking answers, and payment records (held by Stripe). I keep brief private notes of session dates and general topics for scheduling continuity — never detailed accounts of what you share. I never sell or share your information. You may ask me to delete your booking information at any time by emailing hello@thehonesthour.co.
11. Limits of responsibility
You remain responsible for your own decisions, actions, and wellbeing. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the session or subscription month in question.
12. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date above will be updated. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Questions about any of this? Email hello@thehonesthour.co — you'll get an honest answer.
